Winter Jackets often are bulky, takes up much of our wardrobes and too often we keep them away for a long time before using them again. How should we store them properly before our next use?
Here are some tips:
- Ensure that items are thoroughly cleaned and dry before committing them to long-term storage.
- Vacuum-sealed bags should not be used to store expensive clothing items, especially items that are delicate. The vacuum-sealing function can permanently crush the items, or cause the items to lose its natural shape. Moreover, most of these bags are made of plastic that is not breathable. This can encourage the growth of mildew and mould.
- Unused luggage is an excellent choice to store winter clothes that can be folded.
- Sweaters and knits are best stored folded, not hung.
